Bayern Munich striker, Thomas Muller has revealed that he almost joined Manchester United two years ago after the club submitted a bid for him.
Manchester United have been linked to the player for a couple of years now and the vice chairman of Bayern Munich revealed that they received a bid of 100 million Euros from the Old Trafford club.
However, Dreessen further revealed that the club did not at any time negotiate with the Manchester club as Muller revealed that he thought of leaving.
“There was a time, about two years ago when I thought about this issue,” he said in a recent interview with Kicker “but I was reassured by the club that I was needed and that really helped.”
“when I was informed of how important I was to the club and still is to date. I don’t really have any regret.”
Poor Showing Last Season
Muller, 27, had faced criticism after his poor showing last season where he ended the season with just 9 goals in 42 games.”
This led to fresh speculation that he could leave the club. But Muller believes he won’t be leaving anytime soon.
” I don’t think a move will happen,” he added. “I am really comfortable here and I have played most of my career here in Munich.”
Muller is a product of Bayern’s youth system and has made over 400 appearances for the club ever since he broke into the first team.
