Garbine Muguruza has finally revealed how it felt to defeat Venus Williams in the Wimbledon women’s final.

Muguruza revealed that Venus was one of her role models and it felt great to finally win another her major’s title after French Open win in 2016.

She won the game 7-5 6-0 and stayed that she was happy to win once again. “I am glad that I have won another Grand Slam because it is really hard to achieve.”

Not the easiest Title

“This gives me more confidence and I’m happy to win” against someone that has to consider my role model and an icon alongside her sister Serena.

“When I was down by a few points. I didn’t really feel down because I knew I was playing against Venus” and she is a tough opponent that will give any opponent a run for their money.

“I just kept fighting and I just knew that if I kept playing the way I should”. I stood a chance to win and I was lucky that everything worked out well. I couldn’t be happier with then end result.

The 23-year-old Spaniard lost to American’s sister Serena in 2015 final but has been on the rise in the last few years.
