The owner of the Houston Rockets, Leslie Alexander, has announced that the club has signed a new contract that will keep James Harden with the team for another four years.
“I am proud to announce that we have signed a new deal with James Harden which will keep him with us for a long time. Ever since he came to this city, he has shown incredible work ethic, his desire to win is incredible and he is very passionate. This is why he is one of the most talented and unique stars in the history of the NBA” said Alexander. “Furthermore, he has shown a lot of commitment to this team, the entire city and to the fans of Houston Rockets all around the world. This makes him a leader and a player that will help us in our title chase. I’m happy for Harden, his mum Monja, and his entire family .”
“Houston is my home,” Harden said after the contract was announced. “Mr Ale has shown that he is committed to taking this team to the top and I will keep doing my best to ensure that we go all the way next season.”

The Houston Rockets made it to the NBA playoffs in all the five previous seasons that James Harden has been with the team and has been selected in three NBA All-star team for the last four seasons and came in second in the Most Valuable Player rating for the 2014/2015 and 2016/2017 seasons.
He also set a career high of 29.1 points per game, rebounding 8.1 percent and providing an average 11.2 assist per game as he took the Houston Rockets to the third spot of the NBA point scoring chart. He matched the record of Oscar Robertson as the only player in the NBA to hit 29,0 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds in just one season.
