Pyongyang newspaper claims that US president Trump is trying to distract from his ‘tough situation’ back home.
Donald Trump, current US president has been criticizing North Korea in response to the death of Otto Warmbier, American student who was returned to the US in a coma, after spending a year in detainment.
Rodong Sinmun, Pyongyang’s official newspaper is claiming that the president is trying to divert focus from his own struggles with US politics. “South Korea must realize that following psychopath Trump…will only lead to disaster,” wrote the paper.
Moon Jaw-In, South Korea’s president, is scheduled to visit Washington next week to meet with president Trump to begin talks with North Korea about their nuclear program.
Trump has called the leadership based in the North Korean capital as an “irrational regime,” in his interview with CBS’ This Morning.
The tensions between North Korea and the US show no signs of calming down and Trump has condemned the country several times for their military displays.
Warmbier’s death, who was sentenced with 15 years hard labor in 2016, for steal a propaganda sign, was the opportunity that Trump took advantage of to express that this incident showed the “brutality of the North Korean regime.”
“Otto’s fate deepens my administration’s determination to prevent such tragedies from befalling innocent people at the hands of regimes that do not respect the rule of law or basic human decency,” he said.
A memorial will be help at Wyoming High School in Ohio on Thursday for the 22-year-old student. The coroner is still trying to determine cause of death.
